Parfleche du chef Indien SHORT BULL c.1880-1890 Parfleche en rawhide (peau de bison brute) peint de motifs géométriques colorés typiques (recto-verso). Le rabat et les flans sont bordés de tissu vert, enlacé par des lanières de peau souple et de ficelle. Il a une étiquette (manuscritte par Monsieur F. CHANUT daté de 1911) indiquant que cet objet a appartenu au chef Indien SHORT BULL (photo jointe), fameux visionnaire de la Ghost Dance de 1889-90, qui a abouti au massacre de Wounded Knee le 29 décembre 1890 au Dakota du Sud. H. 21,5 cm, L. 30,5 cm. Très bon état. Collection : Jean LANTERNIER (1901-1976) et depuis dans sa descendance. The flap and the blanks are lined with green fabric, entwined by strips of supple skin and string. It has a label (handwritten by Mr. F. CHANUT dated 1911) indicating that this object belonged to the Indian chief SHORT BULL (see photo), famous visionary of the Ghost Dance of 1889-90, which resulted in the massacre of Wounded Knee December 29, 1890 in South Dakota. H. 21.5 cm, L. 30.5 cm.Very good state.
